    Default Annual residence

    hello there

I would like to apply for an annual residence permit. I am financial independent (I operate a small web company), but not wealthy enough to invest $500,000. Even for an annual permit, the requirements seem to be quite high and I would like to know if I have a fair chance to get a permit.
First question: An official web site states that one of the requirement is "A covering letter from the supporting applicant stating relationship and accepting financial responsibility for the subject of the application". What does it mean exactly? Do I need a letter from a Bahamian citizen or resident, from a bank, from my Grandma? Has someone out there some experience with that? I would be gtrateful for any hint!

    Thank you in advance

I seem to remember that you cannot get your residency without a financial stake. (owning a home valued at more than $500,000, or investing in business). Just coming here and renting an apartment, or buying a small home and living here without ginvesting back is not enough.

As for the letter, I believe it must be from either a bahamaian employer/bank, or a bahamian in good standing (meaning with some $$$) who will sponsor you, and be held responsible and accountable for you personally and financially.

I went thru this awhile back, and still don't have my residency. I own a home, but it's not worth that kinda money, and my income comes from my IT consulting business in the states.

Why not contact someone in the Minister office/immigration for some clarification.
