Bell Channel Inn

Hi all, I am coming to the Bahamas in June and will be staying at the Bell Channel Inn, any comments about the hotel??? Anything that I should plan on doing while I am down there??? What is the weather like at the end of June and early July???


'Nother question: I have Cingular service here in US... what is the easiest way to get a cell phone service down in the bahamas??

Don't know much about the Bell Channel Inn, but i'll comment on the cell issue.
Cincular GSM phones working on 1900 mhz band SHOULD work in the bahamas if you are near enough to the towers. You'll have to call Cingular and sign up for International Calling. Each call cost $1.99 from Cingular, and whatever Batelco back bills down the line. Service is hit or miss.
I get service some days, and not on others. Sometimes it works for a call or two.. then not. Not very dependable.

Its a nice motel,on the water,with a great dive shop,Bar and food upstairs,the Paulsen's the owners are a hoot,ask him for a bottle on the belt behind the bar! MMMMMMMMMMm mmMMMMMM GOOD! You will taste it till you get home, Your close to PortLucaya,but at night you do have to walk past some local housing I never had any problems but I think they have a shuttle,Ask.Day time no problems.
The place to beach hop and stores is PortLucaya so you are just a few blocks away and PortLucaya has the best beach close by.
See my BillyJole on the beach for a burger or cold Kalick! Just ask a local how to find his beach stand=well worth it,do a booze or wine and cheese cruise at sunset, Eat some local food chicken&rice,conk fritters,relax,be nice to the locals they are all great folks,dont be in a rush!
leave the phone at home and get on Island time!

also get out to Margaritavilla/aka The Sand Bar for Lunch ,If you buy lunch they will pick you up and drop off,Its a small beach bar on miles of great beach,good food,Jenks the owners is Great,On miles of the best beach on Island,cant take a cab would be way too much!

i won a free trip to bell channel. when would a good time to go and how expensive is it? do i use american dollers or something else?
