my husband and I may be coing to the islands for a vacation and possibly considering moving there. Id like some input on the best islands for a not super fast paced lifestyle and a low crime rate location. Husband would be seeking work in the golf car business.

Hello,

I would highly recommend the island of Great Exuma. There is virtually no crime there and it is the antithesis of what Nassau has become. In other words, it is very peaceful yet has grocery stores, gas stations and that sort of thing. The people are very nice and helpful and I like this island because it is surrounded by 364 other islands that are part of the Exuma archipelago. So in a hurricane, it seems to be more sheltered by surrounding islands. One particular development called February Point Resort Estates is gorgeous. It is a gated resort community located a half mile from George Town (grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, banking, etc.) and has lots of amenities (tennis, fitness club, etc.), and the owners who have vacation homes already built there seem very happy. Ooops, I forgot to respond about your husband being in the golf car business. February Point owners use golf cars to get around the property so you would probably have potentially good business there!
