    Default Moving in

Hi! Im Paolo, from Manila, going to move to the Bahamas soon to work as a physician on a 3 yr contract. Freeport, to be exact. I am bringing my wife and 4 yr old son with me. My main concern is, can my wife get a job there; even part time? And second question, my wife is kinda concerned with regards to safety or frequency of crime in that country...Can someone clear my wife's thoughts in these matters? Thanks!

    Default como si dice?.

if you are genuine and originate from manila then crime, corruption and vice should be a well known experience. as the 'richter scale' of international crime statistics go the bahamas is not in the top 10. although there may be doubts about the increase in crime statistics, a person has to have a laconic acceptance of them these days. i have noticed that there has been more 'more than a few' crimes against people that are not money motivated. for instance there have been travellers from my country who have been attacked and assaulted [not robbed] by local people in different countries. those unfortunate violent actions happened for the simple reason that the local people thought the tourists were americans. the bahamas would definately be a better place to live in regards to the enviroment compared to manila. besides having a healthier lifestyle that is free of chronic pollution and over crowding, there is one more thing to be taken into consideration as a good aspect. the bahamas does not have coup de etat's ,mass civil unrest or military revolt. so a person is free to leave if the place is found to be undersirable, which is much better than to be subject to the restrictions imposed by a junta. with regards. gary.
