Default What is there for teenagers to do in Nassau/Paradise Island?

I'm planning a trip for my daughter and her friend to Nassau next year. What is there to do besides the beach, shopping and touring?

More specifically, they enjoy dancing at the Under 21 clubs here where we live. Is there anything like that in Nassau or Paradise Island?

    I welcome any other ideas/suggestions.

    Thanks!!!

There are plenty of clubs who will allow 17 year olds to party.. (yes, that includes alcohol). The legal age is 18, but anyone who asks for a drink will be served. Under 18 are not allowed to gamble.

There's a comedy club, movie theatre and teen club at Atlantis, Senor Frogs downtown, most hotels have arcades of some sort.

Default Paradise island is the most expensive part of town!!

Paradise island, while really beautifull, is the most expensive part of Nassau to do anything at all.

You didn't say if the girls will be on their own, or will they be escorted by an adult? If on their own, I'd be very un=easy about that idea, as there are lots of ways for them to get into serious trouble.

The Bahamas is quite different from where you live, with very lax attitudes about legal drinking age, and behaviour of visitors, who are THE chief source of income for most Bahamian busines operators. The visitors are the ones who are the danger, not the Bahamians. Drunken US college students are the ones who cause most of the trouble, as they seem to think that the laws do not apply to THEM.

Time your visit so that the college crowd is not there.

Things to do? The Beach, the Beach. Lots of water sports rentals, or take a scooter or a bicycle ride out to the other side of the island. Remember that New Providence ( the island that Nassua is on) is only 21 miles long and 7 miles wide, so you can't get too far on wheels and the highest point is only about 150 feet in height so not too many hills to climb. Or try the underwater walk, where you wear a breathing helmet, and walk across the botton of a lagoon seeing all the fish swimming around your head.
