    Default Moving

    Question:
If I had a working permit to work in the Bahamas for some time, would my girlfriend be allowed to come to Bahamas and live with me legally? I know she would'nt be able to work, but what about just living there with me and maybe do volunteer work?
    Thanks!

No, she wouldn't be able to stay longer than 8 months at a time if she's a U.S. Citizen, I think it's only 3 months for Canadians. Some get around this by leaving the country for 1 day (flying to Florida, then returning 24 hours later), but this can get tricky.

I've done this in the past, and been stopped getting back in the country after spending 8 months in the bahamas. luckily, I still had an apartment in the US, and returned to Nassau 30 days later.

If you're married, it's a different story, you're family can live with you, but the work permit is for you alone.
