Default Suggestions for Dining Out Near Atlantis???

We are staying at the Atlantis again this year.

We loved it last year but found the meals very expensive and the family dining options at Atlantis limited. Our children are young and the better restauraunts aren't appropriate for them.

We did find a couple of small restaurants across the street that werer a little better in price and variety. I belive one was called Anthony's Caribbean?

Any suggestions for someone without a car - are there better, cheaper dining options?

We wanted to keep fresh fruit in the room but that sounds like it is not allowed.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

There are quite a few in the area. Besides Anthony's (which is across the street), there is the News Cafe for casual Dining, and Zio Gigi at Hurricane Hole Plaza (just 5 minute walk). There is also Hurricane Hole Outdoor Bar and Grill at the Hurricane Hole Marina, which has a pool, and you can grab a "family table" away from the bar to relax with a drink while the kids grab a hot dog and frolick in the pool. Blue Marlin has a fun "native show" that will entertain the kids ($10pp extra). Food is ordinary, but the show is terrific.
Other options are Domino's pizza delivery. And don't forget to take the ferry to downtown Nassau. Great places for a late lunch with kids. Cheeky Monkey, Senor Frogs as well as a ton of fast food and local fare. The last ferry leaves at 6, so have a late lunch.. and forget dinner. Or grab a cab home.

    Nigel:

Thank you - this is very helpful. We'd been thinking that we would probably have time this year to actually leave the Atlantis resort and visit downtown. We were kept busy last year just getting acquainted with the resort.
I didn't know about the ferry - we will have to look into that
Once again, many thanks for the information.

The Outdoor Grill at Hurricane Hole Marina is the Green Parrot. Forgot to include that.
Here's a quick link to the menu. You'll find some other great info at this link.

Thanks Nigel - the site is very helpful. It gives the menus for each restaurant.
    Much appreciated.
By the way, is the glass bottom ferry at $6 roundtrip the best way to get to downtown Nassau. Will it leave us off near the shopping and restaurants?
