All persons born in the Bahamas to Bahamians or foreigners once the birth is register (has to be done by parent) will be issued a Bahamian Birth Certificate. cIn the case where the parents did not register the birth for whatever reason, the child can be given an affidavit. The affidavit is a sworn document acknowledging the birth of the child and to whom the child was born. Due to negligence many births are not recorded, many affidavits are also not recorded.

So once the birth is recorded yes you can trace it. The registry general in Nassau or Freeport will have that information. All you need is the name of the child and the date of birth. Sometimes the name of the mother is also requested. A copy of the birth certificate can be given.
