Default Questions from a first time cruiser

I appreciate any input...and apologize if these questions have been asked before.

We're going to Freeport and Nassau on Carnival's Fantasy in late January...

    1. Freeport's Lucayan marketplace..anyone been? How's the bargains/prices/selection compared to Nassau? Is a taxi the best way to get from the cruise dock or take a bus?

    2. Blue Lagoon Island....anyone been? We'd like to go just for the hammocks and the beach...what is the best way to get there...transportation only (without paying for stingray city or the dolphin experience)? Carnival charges $27 per person...isn't there a ferry that goes there right at the Cruise dock? I can't seem to find any info online about it...just that there is one there. Anyone know how much and how accessable it is? One of the other main factors is that if we go with the Carnival shore excursion...you're there for 5 hours...we'd like to be more flexible and return when we want.

    3. I'm getting mixed info whether Senor Frog's is open or not in Nassau...is it open yet?

    4. We'll be in Nassau on a Tuesday...I've read online that shops close at 6:00...is this just the Bay Street shops or does the Straw Market, etc. close early also?

    5. We'd like to visit Atlantis....what exactly can you see besides the Casino without paying? Are the guards that strict? Can you walk around a bit and see some of the grounds? Some sites I've read that if you go at night you can sightsee around the grounds more freely..

    6. Could you please send happy thoughts for sunny weather the third week of January?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Terri

Hi.Enjoy Freeport Grand Bahama,Its more laid back,Clean,Neat and well nice=The shop area in Port Lucya Market place is a great area to spend your short day trip on the Island,Get a cab quick on disembarking the boat and ask rate=They are all set to and from a location!Port Lucya is the harbour, shops, and beach area, get to the beach across the street,They are all Public in the Bahamas but some Nassau/Paradise Island resorts try to keep you out or charge!!The Resort Our Lucaya sits on some great beach area and has great place sto eat at and snack or see my Pal Billy Jole just west of the resort on the beach ,his beach shack serves Great Burgers!or local favorites like the fresh catch of the day,Conk salad, ect, get early at noon he gets real busy!!
P.S.Atlantis is the resort that loves to charge all!for things !
