Places to eat CHEAP..............

Hi,
I am traveling to Nassau this weekend for 4 days, and would like to find places to eat away from the Hotel(s) that are very good and CHEAP. Are there any buffet type places.
I have heard of a few, like Travellers, but would like to see if there is more.

Also, is there any other means of Transport to P.I. other than boat, cab, or feet? Do the jitneys go there?

Where are the Stairs located, and can I get there by jitney?

Depends on what you mean by cheap. You can get fast food and pizza if you're really on a budget, or places like the New Cafe or the Deli.
Places like Green Parrot have burgers at the Harbourside Marina Grill, and Crocodiles has a nice menu with less expensive items.
Arawak Cay's Fish Fry is a good choice for local food, try a SNAK instead of a dinner.. it usually comes with fries and is a few bucks less than a dinner.
These places are pretty casual, along with Cafe Skans for breakfast/lunch, Cheeky Monkey and Conch Fritters.
For better dining, try Cafe Matisse, Green Shutters Pub or Montegue Gardens. Each have great food and are far cheaper than Atlantis Restaurants.

There are no jitneys to or around Paradise Island, (except for the shuttle from harbourside to Atlantis.
Cabs and ferryboats are the way to go. Ferries run from 9am - 6pm. After that, you'll likely need a cab. Ferries are $3pp.
Paradise Island itself is very walkable. Everything is pretty close together.

As for the Stairs. Take the ferry to downtown Nassau and ask the locals. It's quite close to the dock. Up the hill.
