How do I find out who owns a proterty

I have just been to a property exhibition and was led to believe that one can purchase land in the Bahamas somewhere starting from $10,000 a plot. Can anyone enlighten me as to where these plots are and whether they are really worth purchasing?

if you look for a 1/3 acre plot on long island they can cost around 10K but you need to go speak to a realtor. Try Sunshine properties based on Long Island.
