Default Information on Education for Daughter while I work

My current employer has a job in Freeport for the next year and I am more likely going to work there the first part of the year. However, I have an 8 year old daughter that I would like to come with me and get her into some school that would also be recognized by the US when we return. She is in 3rd grade now and would be in middle of the school year by the time we come there. She would be in 4th grade once we come back to US & I want to be sure she is not behind when we come back here.
Would I need to home school her or private school her? We would not need any insurance from Bahamian Government. I would have work Visa (I assume) & my daughter would have a Passport...any further requirements for her?

A private school would be fine -- schools here are just as good or bad as the U.S.
